HOW TO ENTER

This once-in-a-lifetime holiday will give a family of four the opportunity to explore just how diverse and enjoyable life on water can be.

The prize includes a five night stay at the beautiful water-edged Riverside Hotel, a total watersports and boating experience courtesy of Broderick Sports (including wakeboarding and waterski lessons, use of a supervised boat plus full tuition for a boating license for one member of the family), and an overnight stay aboard the luxurious Liquid Living houseboat - complete with chef and limousine chauffeur.

HOW TO ENTER:

By entering into this competition, entrants agree to the rules and conditions of entry as set out below.

Purchase City Press 26 July, 2 August and 9 August. Answer the weekly questions and increase your chances of winning.

  1. SMS's are charged at R3 per SMS.
  2. A total of 60 finalists, with correct answers, will be drawn for the competition
  3. Entries close on Saturday 15 August at 12h00.
  4. 60 finalists will be selected and notified by sms.
  5. Finalists need to be present at the draw at the National Boat Show on Saturday 15 August for the prize draw at 15h00.
  6. Finalists will be advised via SMS.
  7. The more correct answers you have, the better your chances are of winning.
  8. Finalists to get to the show (qualify for complimentary entry at the VIP counter) for the prize draw at 15h00, Saturday 15th August 2009.
  9. If finalists are not present at the draw, and if their name is drawn – the Organisers reserve the right to do a re-draw.

  1. There is no limit as to the number of entries per person.
  2. Only correct answers qualify to go into the draw.
  3. There are 3 different questions, which will appear in the City Press Competition on these days - 26 July, 2 August and 9 August only.
  4. The entrant accepts that entry to the competition does not constitute a contract or any form of legal commitment between the entrant and the participating newspapers or the organisers of the National Boat Show, their sponsors and participating agencies, exhibitors, associates and companies.
  5. The organisers of the National Boat Show, their exhibitors, sponsors, agents, associates and participating newspapers shall not assume liability for any ambiguity, error, oversight or omission whether negligent or otherwise which may be committed by any employee of the participants and publishers in respect of this competition.

Terms & Conditions

  1. This competition is conducted in accordance with the provisions of section 54 of the Lotteries Act, 1997, as amended.
  2. By entering into this competition, entrants agree to the rules set out below.
  3. Employees of City Press, their sponsors & their agents, employees of exhibiting companies and their suppliers, journalists or any company associated with the competition & their immediate families are not eligible to enter.
  4. There is no limit on the number of times you may enter the competition.
  5. Telephone calls and/or text messages to the competition lines will be charged at R3 per SMS. Free minutes under a cell-phone contract do not apply. Entrants under the age of 18 must obtain permission from their parents or guardians before entering.

  8. Competition adverts will appear in City Press each Sunday from 26 July – 9 August. A different competition question will be featured each week. Enter each week to increase your chances to win.
  9. 20 finalists will be drawn each week. Entries will close on Saturday 15 August at noon.
  10. Finalists will be notified telephonically in advance.   
  11. Finalists must be present at the National Boat Show by 14h00 for the draw at 15h00 on Saturday 15 August in order to be eligible for the prize.
  12. Prizes are not transferable and cannot be deferred or exchanged for cash.
  13. Winners may be required to appear on television or radio, or in printed publications, for which no fee will be payable.
  14. Entrants enter into the competition, and use prizes won, at their own risk. The Organisers cannot be held responsible for any accident, injury, harm or loss as a result of entry into the competition or use of a prize.
  15. The Organisers reserve the right to cancel the competition without notice at any time, if deemed necessary in their opinion, or if circumstances arise outside of their control. In the event of such cancellation, all participants agree to waive any rights that they may have in terms of this competition and acknowledge that they have no recourse against The Organisers, their employees, agents, partners, sponsors or promoters.
  16. The Editor and the auditor’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  17. Winners of previous competitions are not eligible for entry into a National Boat Show competition for a period a 6 months.
  18. Winner must be in possession of a valid identification (ID) if required.
